| FILM "NOMAD" Russell James, Director Pete Romano, Underwater DP Mark Robinson, Assistant Director The movie Nomad, starring Estella Warren,(Planet of the Apes, Driven, Kangaroo Jack) a modern day mythological adventure where opening scenes discover her character living much like a mermaid in the depths of the ocean. Working as the Assistant Director: • Developed underwater rigs and safety procedures for propelling breath holding stunt doubles through the water at depth creating the illusion of effortless mermaid- like movement. • Incorporated knowledge of marine environment to develop story line and maximize shooting opportunities. • Coordinated filming efforts with dolphin trainers to block scenes with trained dolphins in open water. • Freediving skills were essential in obtaining dramatic wide-angle scenes of mermaid ascending from extreme depths.
