This spot for Southwest Airlines featured two men deep sea fishing offshore on a sport fishing boat and depicting one man catching and landing a large swordfish. In order to get this footage, Radical Media contracted with Edge Innovations to travel to Miami with the animatronic swordfish that were originally designed for the feature film “Perfect Storm”.  Miami-based research vessel, Coral Reef II, was chartered in order to accommodate the film crew and the special effects requirements. The Techno Crane was rigged onto a catamaran platform for filming action shots of the swordfish and sport fishing boat. Biscayne Bay in Miami was chosen as the location because it offered shallow water with an open horizon clear of buildings or land in the background.
